The certificate course in Collection Development and Management in Academic Libraries is a cooperation between the Vienna University Library, the University of Graz and the University of Innsbruck.

This certificate course focuses, among others, on acquisition models, stock and archiving policy, innovative service trends, target group analysis, customer acquisition and customer loyalty, science communication, research documentation, open access, long-term archiving, sustainability and legal aspects.

Graduates of the certificate course in Collection Development and Management in Academic Libraries know the most common acquisition and archiving models and the legal background to develop strategies for their work environment. They expand their knowledge about the methods and strategies for optimizing library services and develop innovative scenarios for their implementation. In addition, participants of the certificate course develop an awareness of the roles and tasks of libraries in the academic publication process and develop solutions in the area of long-time archiving.
