Archaeological Heritage

Archeologists do not only contribute their archeological and culture-historical expertise to construction activities in settled areas or to infrastructure measures. They also take responsibility within the conflicting priorities of archeology, urban planning, infrastructure planning and monument preservation.

The Archaeological Heritage certificate course prepares archeologists, as well as persons working in offices for spatial planning, planning offices, architect’s offices, building businesses or similar specialist areas, to perform responsible activities in the field of monument preservation, and offers postgraduate continuing education and training for their current profession.

By imparting extensive competencies in the fields of

  • international and national statutory regulations and conventions
  • guidelines relevant to the field
  • project management for archeological measures and evaluation procedures as well as
  • heritage management,

the certificate course “Archaeological Heritage” aims at preparing its participants to perform responsible activities in the field of monument preservation, and supporting them in their professional practice.
