The Bridge

The Bridge is an officially registered Vienna-based NGO run by graduate students from the Vienna Human Rights Masters. The intention behind the organisation is to bridge the gap between academia and human rights practice. Via interdisciplinary projects, events and interactive discussions, the students aim to create a space for constructive dialogue so as to productively contribute to the human rights canon.

A particular focus of The Bridge is to do grassroots work and collaborate with other NGOs both in Vienna and elsewhere.

Any students or human rights practitioners, academics or activists are invited to join in raising awareness about some of the more pressing issues of our contemporary world.

Check out the Website for monthly Blogs related to human rights work.

New Here

Leonard, Teresa, Petr, Manu, Anouk and Katherine, our alumni from the first generation of the Vienna Master in Human Rights, have - together with other dedicated volunteers - been working hard on New Here, an online, interactive, multilingual map for refugees.

The map allows people who are new in Vienna to independently find their way around their new home, whether they’re looking for a restaurant, football club or where to continue their asylum procedure.

The map is translated into 4 languages, with Parastoo, a current student of the Human Rights Master, coordinating Farsi translations as well as other master students, refugees and other engaged individuals translating the map on a voluntary basis.
