OBJECTIVES

Therefore the UNIBILITY project ("university meets social responsibility") aimed at strengthening the relationships of universities with their local communities through USR-activities. Specifically the project developed strategies how universities can increase their social responsibility actively on student and researcher level, it developed and implemented USR service learning projects impacting the local community in the area of environmental, social or economic research, and developed a USR curriculum and trained university management and students with it. Also learning networks between universities and local business partners was created. 

The specific aims of the project were: 

  • Enhance the commitment of universities in local communities
  • Develop strategies how universities can increase their social responsibility actively on student and researcher level
  • Develop practical service learning projects impacting the social environment
  • Develop training material and train university management and students in USR
  • Create learning networks between HE and local business, the environmental sector and the social sector

Final Conference

The final conference of the UNIBILITY project took place in Barcelona at the 22nd of September 2017, from 9 am - 5 pm.
