Clinical pharmacy describes an area of pharmacy that investigates the science and practice of the rational use of pharmaceuticals. Clinical pharmacists work in a patient-oriented way and help in optimizing medication, promoting health and avoiding diseases. Clinical pharmacy is not the same as hospital pharmacy, but is rather a subdiscipline of hospital pharmacy as well as pharmacy in public pharmacies. Ideally, it can be found in all health care setting.
Graduates of the university continuing education and training program in Clinical Pharmacy obtain the academic degree "Master of Science MSc (CE)". It is also possible to complete the module "Medication Review" as a certificate course.
