Graduation 2025

As the season changes and autumn turns the page, one chapter closes and another begins. This year’s LL.M. in International Law Graduation Ceremony took place on Friday, 26 September 2025, at the Great Ceremonial Hall of the University of Vienna.

The graduates came from the following countries: Austria, China, Germany, India, Kazakhstan, and Turkey.

This year, Ekin SAHIN from Turkey excelled with the best grades, followed by Abylaikhan Bogenbaiuly from Kazakhstan.

• Ekin Sahin’s thesis was supervised by Prof. Gerhard Hafner and carries the title: “Area based management tools: from UNCLOS to BBNJ and beyond?”
• Abylaikhan Bogenbaiuly’s thesis was supervised by Prof. Christina Binder and carries the title: "The Legal Aspects of the Prohibition of Armed Attacks against Nuclear Facilities”.

The conferment of degrees was followed by a lavish reception in the ceremonial halls of the University of Vienna.
